A financial plan is your pathway to a successful
future. We will work with you to identify your values, set appropriate
goals and objectives, and explore your dreams. We will ask
you to gather information about your current financial position
and share with us the details about your assets, liabilities,
income and expenses. We will analyze the information you have
provided, identify problems and opportunities, and develop strategies
for achieving your goals.
Even the best of plans is ineffective if it is
not properly implemented and monitored, so your planning team will
work with you to make sure that all parts of your financial plan
are fully implemented and updated and monitored on a regular basis.
The relationship between you and your planner
must be one of trust, empathy and mutual respect. The success of
your plan will depend on the communication and trust built between
you and your planner.
 |
Credentials, education, experience and common
sense are important. You should expect your planning team to
provide all of the above. The Certified Financial Planner® certification
is the credential of choice for financial planning. A planner
with this designation has completed a rigorous educational program
encompassing all of the basic areas of financial planning, has
successfully passed a difficult board examination and has had
a minimum of three years of full time work experience in financial
planning or a related field. |
Comprehensive financial planning encompasses
five areas:
 |
Cash Flow & Taxes |
 |
Insurance |
 |
Retirement Planning |
 |
Estate Planning |
 |
Investments |
Investment management should be a part of your
financial plan. Request a written, customized Investment Policy describing
your investment objectives and constraints and outlining the portfolio
allocation parameters. Make sure you understand how your planner
manages money. Does he or she buy individual stocks or use mutual
funds or managed accounts? Does the firm do proprietary research
and make its own investment decisions or is the investment management
delegated out to another company? How often will your account be
reviewed? How often will it be rebalanced? How often will you receive
reports?
Ask about compensation. Fee-based planners are
compensated by fees and not by commissions on products they sell.
There are some very fine planners who are compensated by commissions,
but many clients prefer a fee based compensation structure.
You might be wondering if you should really consider hiring a financial
planner or whether you might just try to do your planning yourself.
There are some good planning web sites and software programs you might
consider if you feel that you might want to do your own planning. You
should consider hiring a planner if:
 |
You have limited financial experience |
 |
You are not good with numbers |
 |
You do not have time to do it properly |
 |
You want an objective, professional
perspective |
 |
You have more important things to do
(travel, spend time with your family, volunteer) |
The Enrichment Group is a nationally recognized provider
of comprehensive professional financial planning services. Our unique
holistic planning process expands the scope of traditional financial
planning by focusing on your personal values as an integral part of the
planning process.
Our
offices are designed to provide a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere
where important decisions can be made in a tranquil environment.
Long-term, trusting, personal relationships between planners and
clients are the norm and multi-generational planning engagements
are common. |
We manage investment portfolios for our clients. An Investment Policy
Statement that is signed by each client and reviewed annually guides
our investment decisions. Although many of our clients own individual
stocks and bonds, we prefer to use mutual funds and managed accounts.
Our nine member investment committee does its own proprietary research
and we meet monthly to discuss sector and fund performance and manager
changes. Funds placed on our hard sell list are sold immediately. We
review accounts quarterly for cash positions, tax loss opportunities
and we rebalance based on a percentage of the target allocation.
The Enrichment Group is an independent fee-based financial planning
firm. Our compensation comes from you and not from product sponsors.
Since we don't use proprietary products and we are not compensated for
selling you something, we have the freedom and flexibility to make those
recommendations that are most appropriate for you.
The Enrichment Group is a unique combination of a warmth and caring,
teamwork, planning expertise, and investment acumen. We are here to help
you explore your dreams, secure your financial future and peace of mind,
and enhance your wealth by superior investment management. That's what
The Enrichment Experience is all about.
